Capilano University Business & Professional Studies Department: Magazine Publishing Program

The Capilano College Magazine Publishing Certificate is an intensive full-time sixteen-week program in magazine publishing. Starting in early July at Capilano's campus in North Vancouver, this program begins with seven weeks of courses that prepare students for a directed internship. Planned and taught by experienced magazine industry personnel, the program adopts a practical approach as students learn editorial and layout skills from editors, writers and art directors. ¶

Douglas College Print Futures Program

A two-year program focussing on document writing, communication theory, language studies, research skills editing and layout. Based in New Westminster, B.C. ¶

Kwantlen College Creative Writing Program

An Associate of Arts Degree in Creative Writing program, based in Surrey, BC. ¶

Langara College Publishing Department

A certificate program in magazine publishing, including layout, design, editing, illustration and digital publishing. ¶

Langara Digital Media Series

Studies in web publishing and new media from Langara College in Vancouver. Not a certificate program but an extensive collection of software courses that are open to all. ¶

Ryerson Unversity: So You Want to Start a Magazine? (CDJN 101)

A Ryerson School of Journalism 2-day course on the basics of launching a magazine. ¶

SFU: Writing and Communications Program

Courses, workshops and intensives for writers and publishers offered by Simon Fraser University's Harbour Centre campus in Vancouver. ¶

Simon Fraser University Master of Publishing Program

A 16-month intensive degree program in magazine and book publishing. Includes a summer internship program. Located in Vancouver, BC. ¶

University of British Columbia School of Journalism

A program dedicated to the scholarly undertanding of journalism through critical thinking and the teaching of ethical responsibility. ¶

University of Victoria Department of Writing

UVic's degree program for creative writing. ¶
