The Magazine Association of BC elected a new board member, Shashi Bhat, during their annual general meeting at the VSO School of Music on Thursday, June 23.
Natasha Sanders-Kay, MagsBC board member and managing editor of subTerrain magazine, brought forward Shashi’s nomination. Shashi is the editor of EVENT Magazine and has written for MagsBC member publications EVENT Magazine and PRISM international.
Jane Hope, board vice-president, was re-elected for another two-year term.
Board president and Link Magazine publications manager Dan Post, presented the association’s Annual Report and executive director Sylvia Skene conducted a narrative review of the association’s 2015 financial statements and 2016 budget.
The board also passed three bylaw amendments in accordance with the updated BC Societies Act.
