Video: Gold-Star HR Management for Small Magazines

Jenn FarrellJenn Farrell, freelance writer, editor, creative writing and fitness instructor, and facilitator, talks about attracting, keeping, and managing people at your magazine, whether short or long-term staff, paid or unpaid interns, practicum students, or volunteers.

Farrell also covers each point of the GIVERS: Making Time guidelines from the UK study by Join In on sports volunteering as it applies to publishing and HR in general. (GIVERS: Growth, Impact, Voice, Experience, Recognition, Social.)

Although the title of her talk specifies small magazines, the principles and practices outlined are applicable to many types and sizes of organizations and businesses.
