For over 35 years, Access Copyright has served the reproduction rights of Canadian publishers of all types, including those in our country’s magazine industry, ensuring that when their work is copied and shared, they are fairly compensated.
Access Copyright is a copyright collective that represents over 10,000 Canadian writers, visual artists, and publishers and their works. They license the copying of this repertoire to educational institutions, businesses, governments, and others. The proceeds gathered when content is copied, remixed, and shared are distributed to copyright holders.
If you haven’t joined Access Copyright yet, we hope you’ll consider doing so. It costs nothing to become a publisher affiliate and to take your rightful place as part of one of Canada’s largest communities of publishers and creators.
Three reasons why you belong at Access Copyright
- Publisher Repertoire Payment. You will be eligible to receive Access Copyright’s annual Publisher Repertoire Payment which recognizes the contribution that each affiliate makes to our licence offerings to content users. Each year, all eligible affiliates receive a share of the Publisher Repertoire Payment based on revenue totals reported to Access.
- Receiving royalties for the use of your work. Access Copyright manages licensing, collection of licensing fees, and distribution of royalties on your behalf so that you can focus on what you do best.
- They’re in your corner. Access Copyright upholds the rights of creators through advocacy, thought leadership, and copyright education.
