Non-Traditional Newsstands: More Venues Join
Update to the Non-Traditional Newsstands Project, three more newsstands set up around the Lower Mainland and more locations to be announced soon.
The initial pilot project ran from May 2024 to March 2025 to great success. We partnered with performing arts venues across the lower mainland, running pop-up shops and setting up newsstands stocked with free copies of our member magazines.
Through 2025 and into 2026, co-leads Aniana and Sun Woo have expanded the project, partnering with museums, cafés, and post-secondary institutions. At nine venues and growing, we’re looking forward to spreading the reach of BC’s rich magazine publishing industry even further.
Our goal is simple: get copies of our member magazines into the hands of a diverse range of people in our community. We want to help magazines reach more people in places where we don’t usually see them, and increase the potential for new subscriptions. We believe that finding intriguing, niche locations for magazines to live is a valuable way to get eyes on magazines.
