Position: Part-time hybrid position (20 hours/week), $20/hour, 20+ weeks, August 2024 to February 2025.
Location: Ladysmith, Vancouver Island
Compensation: $20/hour
Reports to: Marina Sacht, Editor/Publisher, TAKE 5

Employment Opportunity

TAKE 5 Print & Digital Media is looking for a motivated intern keen to work in the publishing industry and engage with our readers and our community.

Duties will include working with the publisher and editor to produce a monthly print and online magazine in the mid-Vancouver Island communities. Interviewing, writing, photography, social media, and video production will be the main focus, along with supporting the admin, design, and sales areas.

What We Are Looking For

  • Intermediate to advanced English writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated interests and skills in at least a few of the above duties
  • A recent graduate (within 3 years) or student of a relevant program at an accredited post-secondary institution

  • The intern will be paired with a mentor to assist them in their career.
  • The intern will also meet with the internship coordinator for 10 weeks to assist them with their placement.
  • The intern will gain experience, skills and knowledge in a wide variety of areas in magazine publishing and news gathering.

  • Plus statutory holidays
