Title: Publications Manager
Work Hours: Monday to Friday
Compensation: $66,643 – $83,242
The salary range represents the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Employees are typically hired between the minimum and mid-point of the salary range.

Position Overview
The Publications Manager is responsible for the Publications Portfolio of the engagement Department. You coordinate and oversee our major publications: Link Magazine, student agenda, career handbook, annual report, and more. You carry out strategies, help change processes, supervise and support student staff, problem-solve, and coordinate advertising. You recruit and train student staff and contributors and oversee Link Magazine’s digital presence. You also provide internal services to the association including designing and producing promotional materials for both internal and external applications, providing editorial assistance, helping with photography, and collaborating with our in-house print shop.

Responsibilities: What You Will Do
- Coordinate deadlines of, write content for, conduct interviews for, design, edit, proof, and produce six regular digital and hardcopy versions of Link Magazine (Welcome to Campus, Fall, Winter, Spring, Student Leadership, Summer)
- Source external content to enhance the overall content of the publications
- Coordinate advertisements with Sales Representative for some publications, while coordinating advertisements directly with companies for other publications
- Oversee social media presence for Link: post and reply on our accounts, and comment externally
- Design promotional materials
- Manage and cultivate authentic relationships with all staff and key internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain portfolio reports and manuals, documentation, operational statistics, safety and security
- Refer disciplinary issues to Marketing and Communications Manager
- Monitor budget and balance contributors versus paid staff in terms of content
- Assist Marketing and Communications Manager by recommending departmental needs
Qualifications: About You
- Degree in a related field (English, Publishing, Journalism, etc.)
- Five years of experience in a similar role
- Intermediate proficiency using Windows and Mac computers
- Intermediate proficiency using MS Office Suite
- Intermediate proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite
- Advanced proficiency using Adobe InDesign
- Advanced proficiency with editing & writing
- Safety considerations (lifting, standing etc)
- Travel expectations
