Applications Now Open for Magazine Publishers Market Fund
This program provides financial support for B.C. magazine publishers to attend select magazine fairs, conferences and events for the purpose of promoting their publication(s) in both foreign and domestic markets, expanding business opportunities and professional development as well as supporting the development of marketing materials and/or campaigns. Companies will be allotted up to $5K per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31), for activities that meet the standards and program objectives and deemed eligible by Creative BC.
Rolling deadline: Applications will be evaluated on a first come, first served basis until the budget has been fully committed for the fiscal year.Â

You can apply to be reimbursed for events that have already passed, i.e. events you or your staff attended between April 1 and now.

Creative BC has a list of pre-approved market events (it also includes professional development conferences, etc.). However, you can also apply for funding for other industry events or events that are related to your magazine(s) content.

You can apply to attend a single event; there is no longer a minimum number.

You can also apply for funding to attend an event even if you don’t know the exact date(s) and costs, as long as you are reasonably certain it will occur and can show the amounts from the last event. This is important if you wish to attend an event later in the fiscal year, as if you wait too long, the funding may have all been allocated.

This fund now also considers applications for reimbursing costs related to marketing your magazine(s).
